Real-world asset products see rising demand as decentralized exchange volumes decline, offering yields between 3.2% and 5.5%.
Real-world asset (RWA) trading volumes on decentralized exchanges jumped 220% year over year, contrasting with a 70% drop in overall DEX volumes. The growth was fueled by gold-backed tokens and yield-bearing dollar products, which saw heightened activity amid gold price volatility.
Yields for RWA products range from 3.2% for lower-risk Treasury products to 5.5% for higher-risk strategies. Gold-backed stablecoins like Tether Gold (XAUt) and Paxos Gold (PAXG) dominated trading, while Ethena’s sUSDe contributed to spot market activity.
Derivatives markets for RWAs are also expanding, with perpetual futures trading volumes on platforms like tradeXYZ increasing twentyfold since launch. This growth persists despite a broader slowdown in crypto-native derivatives.
