Tesla shares gained 4.2% over the past week, closing at $342.27 on August 14, 2026, as Q2 deliveries hit a record 480,126 vehicles. The figure surpassed the 402,776 consensus and marked a 25% year-over-year increase, driven by a rebound in Europe and strong China performance.

Despite the delivery milestone, Tesla’s operating margin compressed to 1%, and free cash flow turned negative as capital expenditures surged 142% to $5.8 billion. UBS raised its price target to $442, citing growth in Full Self-Driving subscriptions, which rose 56% to 1.5 million in Q2, and potential upside from Optimus and Dojo projects.

China wholesale sales reached 93,579 vehicles in July 2026, up 37.85% year over year, marking the ninth consecutive month of growth. Year-to-date China sales totaled 561,528 units, nearly 30% higher than the same period last year, with exports surpassing domestic deliveries for the first time in Q2.
