Tesla reported Q2 revenue of $28.2 billion, beating estimates of $26.3 billion, but earnings per share fell to $0.33, below the $0.50 consensus. The company’s per-vehicle profit dropped 8% as production costs rose over $6,000 per unit while average revenue per car declined by $2,613.

Despite delivering 480,126 vehicles, Tesla’s core EV business faced margin pressure, raising concerns about its ability to fund ventures like robotaxis and energy storage. Analysts had anticipated stronger profitability amid rebounding deliveries.

Shares may face pressure as investors weigh the earnings miss against broader operational challenges.
