The company reported stronger-than-expected Q2 earnings and approved nearly $500M for U.S. and Canadian pipeline expansions.

TC Energy (TRP) reported Q2 adjusted earnings that exceeded analyst expectations, driven by higher natural gas transmission volumes and cost efficiencies. The company also announced approval for $498M in pipeline expansion projects, including two Columbia system expansions and an NGTL system project in Canada and the U.S.

Consensus estimates had projected softer earnings, but TC Energy’s performance reflected improved operational execution. The $498M investment follows prior capital commitments in midstream infrastructure, aligning with long-term demand growth for natural gas.

Shares remained flat in early trading as investors digested the earnings beat and expansion plans.
