Taiwan Lawmaker Calls for Bitcoin Reserve Using Foreign Exchange Reserves According to the Bitcoin Policy Institute (BPI), Taiwanese legislator Dr. Ko Ju-Chun delivered BPI’s report on establishing a Bitcoin reserve for Taiwan to Premier Cho Jung-tai and Taiwan central bank Governor Yang Chin-long during a formal Legislative Yuan session on April 29.
Ko urged the executive branch to explore allocating a portion of Taiwan’s $602 billion in foreign exchange reserves to BTC as a strategic national asset, and asked the central bank to submit a new report within one month on stablecoins and broader digital asset reserves. — link
