T. Rowe Price’s actively managed cryptocurrency ETF, TKNZ, has allocated 1.26% of its portfolio to $DOGE, marking a rare inclusion of a meme coin in a regulated U.S. fund. The ETF, launched in July, is the first multi-token spot crypto product of its kind in the country.

$BTC and $ETH dominate the fund with roughly 60% of assets, while $BNB holds a smaller share. The firm defended the $DOGE allocation as part of a disciplined strategy, emphasizing its longevity and role in testing blockchain efficiency under congestion.

Lead portfolio manager Blue Macellari stated that excluding meme coins on principle would limit investor upside. The fund’s active approach contrasts with passive competitors by incorporating fundamental research and market momentum.
