The firm plans to accumulate more BTC later this year, citing purchases of 175,000 tokens versus 7,000 sold year-to-date.
Strategy will resume accumulating Bitcoin later this year, reversing recent sales that drew market scrutiny. The company has bought 175,000 BTC while selling 7,000 year-to-date, a 25-to-1 net purchase ratio, according to its CEO.
The firm, now the largest institutional Bitcoin holder, previously sold portions of its 840,000 BTC holdings to fund dividends and share repurchases. Sales totaled 1,690 BTC in its most recent transaction, a fraction of its total reserves.
Despite criticism for deviating from its “never sell” policy, Strategy emphasized its long-term accumulation strategy remains intact. Proceeds from sales were used to bolster its USD reserve and support stockholder returns.
