The S&P 500 declined 0.18% as rising yields and geopolitical tensions dampened investor sentiment. Energy stocks surged 1.59%, the sole sector in positive territory, while industrials and materials lagged amid broader market weakness.

European equities closed higher, with the Stoxx 600 and CAC 40 reaching fresh highs, while the FTSE 100 underperformed. Nominal yields rose modestly, led by Gilts (+4.8bps), OATs (+3.3bps), and Bunds (+2.9bps).

Asian markets opened weaker, except for Chinese equities, as the KOSPI extended losses. U.S. futures remained flat ahead of the July jobs report, with tech indices showing mixed performance.
