Starbucks reports 6% global comparable sales growth while Chipotle logs its first negative comp sales year in over two decades.

Starbucks delivered 6.2% global comparable store sales growth in Q2 FY2026, with North America comps up 7.1% and operating income surging 21.9% to $802.4 million. The company raised its FY2026 guidance, citing strong transaction and ticket growth.

Chipotle, meanwhile, recorded its first full year of negative same-store sales in over 20 years, despite opening a record number of new locations. The stock has fallen 46% over the past year, trading near its 52-week low as declining traffic offsets expansion.

Starbucks also maintains a $0.62 quarterly dividend with a 2.6% yield and 17% CAGR, while Chipotle has no dividend and repurchased $2.4 billion in stock above current prices.
