The company adds a low-cost exploration license near Merredin, targeting a 14km folded magnetic trend with gold potential.
Star Minerals has acquired a 219km² gold exploration project near Merredin, Western Australia, after securing Exploration Licence E70/6810 and lodging an additional application. The project, obtained at low cost, is located 30km from the Edna May gold processing plant and benefits from existing infrastructure, including roads and railways.
The tenement area lies within the Yilgarn Craton, known for hosting gold deposits associated with mafic-ultramafic and banded iron formations. Initial geological reviews identified a 14km folded magnetic trend and multiple structural features prospective for gold mineralization, with limited prior drilling in the region.
Managing director Ashley Jones stated the acquisition aligns with the company’s growth strategy, complementing ongoing mining at Tumblegum South and due diligence on advanced projects. The project’s potential is supported by encouraging geophysical and geological interpretations.
