The contract supports a major project to prevent invasive species from entering the Great Lakes, reinforcing Stantec’s market position.
Stantec Inc. (STN) secured an $85 million contract from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to provide design and engineering services for the Brandon Road Interbasin Project. The eight-year agreement aims to modify the Brandon Road Lock and Dam to block invasive carp from reaching the Great Lakes.
The deal follows a recent price target cut by CIBC analyst Krista Friesen, who lowered her target to C$160 from C$173 but maintained an Outperformer rating. The adjustment reflects confidence in Stantec’s long-term growth despite near-term revisions.
Stantec specializes in water infrastructure, environmental consulting, and large-scale engineering projects, positioning it as a key player in scarcity-driven market trends.
