Annual core inflation dipped to 2.8% in April, though rising fuel and services prices kept headline pressure high.
Spain’s annual inflation eased marginally in April, with core prices falling to 2.8% from 2.9% in March. However, monthly headline inflation rose 0.4%, driven by broad-based increases in services and goods.
Restaurants and accommodation costs climbed 1.2%, while clothing and footwear prices surged 6.0%. Transportation costs jumped 0.9% on the month and 6.5% year-over-year, fueled by higher fuel and lubricant prices.
Persistent energy price pressures, exacerbated by Middle East tensions, are expected to sustain inflation risks in the coming months.
