SpaceX achieves 36th Falcon 9 launch and deploys 1,589 Starlink satellites in H1 2026, boosting investor sentiment amid stock decline.
SpaceX (SPCX) stock held steady Thursday after the company set a new reuse record with its 36th Falcon 9 launch, deploying 29 Starlink satellites. The milestone coincided with accelerated Starlink growth, as SpaceX added 1,589 satellites in the first half of 2026, surpassing last year’s pace of 1,489 in the same period.
The company has now launched over 12,400 Starlink satellites since inception, with nearly 11,000 operational and 10,700 active. Despite these achievements, SpaceX shares remain under pressure, closing at $149.29 Wednesday after hitting a low of $145.20, below its $150 debut price.
Investors had anticipated a boost from SpaceX’s Nasdaq-100 inclusion, but the stock has struggled to gain traction amid broader market conditions.
