SpaceX stock falls nearly 7% from its $150 opening price, erasing gains after a volatile trading start and Nasdaq-100 inclusion.
SpaceX shares declined for a second consecutive session, approaching the $135 IPO price after a turbulent Nasdaq debut. The stock has dropped roughly 7% from its $150 opening trade, reversing much of the initial surge that pushed its valuation above Amazon and Microsoft briefly.
The stock peaked at $201.80 on June 16 but has since fallen, trading at $162 as of July 2. Inclusion in the Nasdaq-100 last week triggered index fund rebalancing, though recent losses have offset those gains. The IPO raised a record $86 billion, surpassing Saudi Aramco’s 2019 offering.
SpaceX reported a $4.9 billion net loss in 2025 and an additional $4.28 billion loss in Q1 2026, raising concerns amid its high valuation.
