SpaceX maps path toward 10 GW of compute after signing $14.1 billion of cloud contracts: Q2 Earnings SpaceX (NASDAQ: SPCX) reported $7.814 billion in second-quarter revenue, a 92% increase year over year, as it expanded its AI infrastructure business.
Its net loss came down to $541 million from $1.008 billion
During the quarter, the company entered into Cloud Services Agreements totaling $14.1 billion in contracted sales. The resulting agreements brought in $1.6 billion of additional AI infrastructure revenue, while total AI segment revenue rose 247% to $2.561 billion. SpaceX spent $18.369 billion on capital expenditures during the quarter, including $15.828 billion for AI compute infrastructure.
Chief Financial Officer Bret Johnsen said new compute deployments currently have a payback period of less than one year. Compute capacity could approach 10 GW SpaceX ended June with 1.4 GW of nameplate compute capacity, up from 1.0 GW in the first quarter and 0.4 GW a year earlier. The company is continuing construction at Colossus II while allocating capacity to its Grok models and external cloud customers. “We expect to end this year with over two gigawatts of compute,” Executive Chairman and Chief Executive Elon Musk said during the earnings call.
