SpaceX’s $1.48 trillion market value surpasses Meta and Tesla as it enters the Nasdaq-100 index amid broader tech sector declines.
SpaceX, now a Nasdaq-100 member, holds a $1.48 trillion market valuation, exceeding Meta Platforms and Tesla but trailing the “Magnificent Seven” tech giants. The company was added to the index on July 7 after rule changes accelerated its inclusion.
The Nasdaq-100 has fallen 7% since SpaceX’s addition, while SpaceX stock declined 25%. The “Magnificent Seven”—Apple, Nvidia, Alphabet, Microsoft, and Amazon—remain the world’s most valuable companies, with Nvidia set to report earnings on August 26. SpaceX is expected to follow on August 4.
SpaceX raised $86 billion in its IPO after underwriters exercised an overallotment, valuing the company at $2 trillion. This positions SpaceX alongside the largest tech firms, though its fundamentals remain under scrutiny.
