SpaceX’s record $75 billion IPO surpasses Tesla’s valuation, positioning Elon Musk to potentially become the world’s first trillionaire.

SpaceX completed its initial public offering, raising $75 billion by selling 555 million shares at $135 each, achieving a $1.8 trillion valuation. The debut places SpaceX as the seventh most valuable U.S. company, ahead of Tesla.

The offering was five times oversubscribed, with institutional demand led by firms like BlackRock, which sought at least $5 billion in shares. Retail investors received allocations in the low-20% range, reflecting intense competition for shares.

Starlink’s 96% revenue surge to $7.6 billion drove the premium valuation, exceeding multiples of Microsoft and Alphabet. The IPO’s $75 billion raise eclipses the combined $36 billion from all other 2026 IPOs.
