Pre-IPO shareholders will gain access to 911 million SpaceX shares on August 6, increasing public float to 12%.
SpaceX will see its public float more than double in August as 911 million pre-IPO shares become eligible for sale. The unlock follows the company’s first earnings report as a public entity on August 4, triggering a partial release of locked-up shares two trading days later.
The move will raise the float from 4.9% to approximately 12% of its 13.2 billion shares. Additional tranches of shares may unlock in September, November, and December if the stock trades 30% above its $121 IPO price on five of the prior 10 trading days.
Elon Musk and other major investors remain subject to a one-year lock-up. Analysts warn potential selling pressure could weigh on the stock as employees diversify holdings.
