Solana’s network nearly halted transaction finality after 28.83% of staked SOL went offline due to a routing failure at infrastructure provider Teraswitch. The incident affected 90 validators, including AS20326, which hosts 118.9 million SOL—27.34% of the network’s stake—with 94% of its validators dropping offline simultaneously.

The outage lasted roughly 33 minutes, with affected validators losing an estimated 333 SOL in rewards. Solana’s finality halt threshold is 33.34% of offline staked SOL. The event highlighted concentration risks across autonomous system numbers, data centers, and validator failover infrastructure.

Marinade Finance, which reported the incident, plans to review its concentration limits to mitigate future risks. Traffic has since recovered, but the episode underscores vulnerabilities in Solana’s validator ecosystem.
