SK Hynix American depositary receipts opened sharply higher after the chipmaker’s U.S. trading debut on Friday.
SK Hynix (SKHY) began trading on the Nasdaq through American depositary receipts, with shares climbing as high as 177 USD in afternoon trades. The stock later settled near 174 USD, reflecting strong initial demand for the South Korean memory-chip maker’s U.S. listing.
The company sold 177.9 million ADRs late Thursday, positioning itself alongside other major semiconductor firms in the U.S. market. The S&P 500 and Nasdaq posted gains earlier in the week, though broader markets remained mixed amid fluctuating oil prices.
SKHY’s debut outpaced some peers, including Delta Air Lines, which declined despite positive guidance.
