Silver (SI=F) July futures opened at $75.10 per ounce on Tuesday, 0.2% lower than Monday’s closing price, but higher than yesterday’s open.
The price of silver moved up in early trading, moving to $76.71 per ounce by 8:36 a.m
ET. Prices of both silver and gold have behaved similarly over the last few days. Both seem to be in a holding pattern, as investors are waiting for news out of the Middle East to meaningfully push prices in either direction.
Even the recent fighting between Israel and Hezbollah hasn’t prompted major price swings in precious metals. The latest developments in negotiations between the U.S. and Iran center on reopening the Strait of Hormuz and an extended ceasefire. But as of this morning, no major agreement has been reached.
