ET. The price of silver continues to struggle this morning as the U.S. has targeted Iranian military sites with fresh airstrikes for the fifth straight day. Iran has responded in kind with airstrikes of its own across the Middle East, vowing to keep the Strait of Hormuz closed.

The Strait of Hormuz, through which a fifth of the world’s oil once flowed, remains critical to a path of peace and to stemming inflation concerns that have once again spread worldwide due to this conflict. If the Fed elects to raise interest rates this year to control rising prices, the price of silver will face even greater headwinds, since silver, like gold, doesn’t pay interest.
