XAG/USD rises modestly on Friday, recovering slightly from a year-to-date decline of 18.14% amid stable gold-silver ratio.
Silver prices edged higher on Friday, trading at $58.19 per troy ounce, a 0.56% increase from Thursday’s $57.87. The move marks a slight rebound for the metal, which has fallen 18.14% since the start of the year.
The gold-silver ratio remained nearly unchanged at 69.56, compared with 69.59 the previous day. Silver’s performance is influenced by factors including geopolitical risks, interest rates, and the strength of the US dollar, which it is priced against.
While silver is often seen as a safe-haven asset, its volatility and industrial demand differentiate it from gold. Investors may turn to silver for portfolio diversification or as a hedge during inflationary periods.
