SGA Global Growth Strategy exited its position in Alcon Inc. (ALC) during Q2 2026, citing subdued demand for cataract procedures and rising competition in premium intraocular lenses. Alcon closed at $73.63 on August 21, 2026, with a market capitalization of $36.68 billion.

Alcon reported 6% constant-currency revenue growth and 16%+ EPS growth in Q1, below the 7% expectation. The company remains the market leader in eye care but is expected to lose share in premium lenses, where it previously held over 80% of the market. Cataract and contact lens demand remains weak, offset partially by strong product launches.

Shares of Alcon rose 9.44% over the past month but declined 8.83% over the last 52 weeks, reflecting broader market pressures and competitive challenges.
