The retailer reported Y105bn in Q1 operating income, driven by stronger sales and margin improvements across Japan and the US.

Seven & i Holdings posted a 122.4% year-on-year increase in Q1 operating income to Y105bn ($649.06m), excluding the deconsolidation of York Holdings and Seven Bank. Net income rose 95.3% to Y60.6bn, with EPS up 118.4% to Y26.21 for the quarter ended 31 May 2026.

Merchandise sales grew 3.2% to Y2.42tn, supported by a 2% rise in same-store sales at Seven-Eleven Japan. Gross profit margin expanded 0.3 percentage points to 32%, while total store sales climbed 2.4% to Y1.37tn. In the US, 7-Eleven saw same-store sales growth of 1.4%, with operating income rising to Y88bn amid stronger fuel margins.

The company raised its FY26 outlook, citing continued investment in fresh food, digital tools, and store upgrades as key growth drivers.
