A tanker carrying 1.9 million barrels of crude passed the Strait of Hormuz, marking only the second such transit to Japan since late February.
A tanker owned by Eneos has successfully navigated the Strait of Hormuz, carrying 1.2 million barrels of Kuwaiti crude and 700,000 barrels of Emirati crude. The cargo was loaded in late February, just before US and Israeli strikes on Iran disrupted regional shipping routes.
This is only the second Japan-bound tanker to pass through the critical chokepoint since the military action began. The Strait of Hormuz remains a key transit point for global oil supplies, with tensions heightening risks to energy flows.
No immediate market reaction was reported following the tanker’s passage.
