The U.S. Mint is set to begin production on a new gold-colored $1 coin featuring President Donald Trump, adding another commemorative design as the country celebrates the 250th anniversary of American independence in 2026. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent unveiled the design on X (1), calling it a tribute to “the enduring legacy of liberty” and a symbol of American patriotism.

The coin’s front features Trump’s profile alongside the words “Liberty” and “In God We Trust,” as well as the dates “1776–2026.” The back displays the Great Seal of the United States with a prominent “250” marking the nation’s semiquincentennial.
