The European Commission approved Saica Group’s acquisition of Thimm Group’s plants in Germany, Poland, the Czech Republic, and Romania. The transaction includes nine corrugated board plants and one preprint facility, boosting Saica’s production capacity by 1,200 million square metres.

Thimm’s sale to Saica was finalized in May after the owning family opted to divest. The deal aligns with Saica’s 2025 strategic plan, aiming to strengthen its infrastructure and service offerings in Central and Eastern Europe.

Saica CEO Susana Alejandro highlighted the integration of Thimm’s workforce and expertise as key to the company’s growth strategy. The acquisition supports Saica’s goal of expanding its local market presence and customer proximity.
