Economist Nouriel Roubini supports a Nasdaq-listed ETF tokenization project set for launch in Q3 2026 under Dubai’s VARA rules.
Nouriel Roubini, a longtime crypto skeptic, is backing USAFi, a tokenized version of the Atlas America Fund ETF listed on Nasdaq. The product aims to provide blockchain-based exposure to the underlying fund while enabling onchain settlement.
The tokenized security will be issued under Dubai’s Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority framework in the third quarter of 2026. Securitize, a leading tokenization platform, will provide the infrastructure for the project. Roubini co-authored the whitepaper for the initiative.
The move marks Roubini’s first foray into blockchain-based finance, despite his prior criticism of cryptocurrencies. The product is designed to offer wealth protection during global financial crises.
