Robinhood is starting a crypto trading service in the UK through Bitstamp UK, allowing users to buy and sell digital assets in the same app used for stocks and shares ISAs, equities, options and futures.
The service will be introduced with zero trading fees, and without account maintenance or custody charges
It is due to start rolling out to eligible UK users this week. Users in the UK will be able to trade more than 50 cryptocurrencies on the platform, including Bitcoin ($BTC), Ethereum ($ETH), XRP ($XRP) and Hyperliquid ($HYPE). At the same time, Robinhood is adding Robinhood Cortex Digests for Crypto, a generative AI feature that reviews breaking news, market data, technical indicators and Robinhood’s own insights to explain the main factors behind price moves in specific crypto assets.
Developers in the country can build on Robinhood Chain, a Layer 2 blockchain based on Arbitrum and linked to the company’s on-chain network. Robinhood said that since the chain’s global debut on 1 July, it has recorded more than $18bn in DEX trading volume and more than $840m in total value locked. The company offers educational material for crypto users through Robinhood Learn and its Help Centre, along with 24/7 customer support through in-app chat.
