The UK fintech’s new stablecoin aims to provide a euro-pegged alternative to dollar-based tokens for payments and transfers.
Revolut has launched EURR, a stablecoin pegged to the euro at €1.00, targeting payments and on-chain transfers. The token will be available initially to eligible customers in Denmark, Poland, and Portugal, with plans to expand across the European Economic Area later this year.
The stablecoin is issued by Bridge Building, a MiCA-registered crypto-asset service provider under Stripe’s stablecoin infrastructure subsidiary. EURR will integrate into Revolut’s app, allowing users to convert between euros and crypto seamlessly. The fintech serves over 80 million customers across more than 40 markets.
Revolut joins a growing list of payment firms and banks, including Visa and Klarna, in offering stablecoin solutions. The move follows increased demand for euro-denominated digital assets to avoid US dollar exposure.
