The Reserve Bank of New Zealand is expected to hold its official cash rate at 2.25 percent on May 27.

A majority of economists now see at least one hike by end-September due to Iran war inflation risks.

New Zealand inflation rose 3.1 percent last quarter, breaching the top of the RBNZ’s 1-3 percent target band.

Major bank forecasts diverge, with Westpac forecasting 125 basis points of hikes and ASB and BNZ projecting 100 basis points.
