Qualitas Energy has finalized financing for a 211MW battery energy storage system portfolio in Italy, partnering with developer ACL Energy. The projects, located in Lombardy and Apulia, will use four-hour and eight-hour storage systems under 15-year revenue agreements from Italy’s Capacity Market and MACSE storage auctions.

The funding comes from Qualitas Energy’s Credit Fund, which has already committed over €370m ($430m) to renewable energy infrastructure. The strategy targets flexible debt solutions for projects beyond traditional lending, including solar, wind, hydroelectric, and battery storage.

ACL Energy retains ownership of the projects, while Qualitas Energy finances the minority equity stake. The deal underscores a growing focus on specialized financing for Europe’s energy transition.
