Progressive (PGR) highlighted its strategy to expand in bundled auto and home insurance during its second-quarter investor event, citing improvements in its property business and growth potential among consistently insured households. The company’s focus on segmentation and rate-to-risk capabilities has allowed it to grow twice as fast as the private-passenger auto industry over the past decade while maintaining a combined ratio seven points lower than competitors.

The insurer reiterated its operating objective to grow rapidly while keeping a combined ratio at or below 96%, alongside high-quality customer service. Leadership changes were also announced, including the retirement of Personal Lines President Pat Callahan in January and the promotion of Lori Niederst to Chief Personal Lines Officer, overseeing both Personal Lines and CRM.

Travelers stock surged 10% following the earnings beat, reflecting investor confidence in the company’s underwriting discipline and growth strategy.
