Prediction markets are expanding rapidly, with volumes projected to reach $1 trillion by 2030, rivaling the growth pace of AI sectors. A Morning Consult study found 71% of current users are men under 45, while a poll revealed one in four American men aged 18-24 have used such platforms in the past six months.

Data from Polymarket, a leading platform, shows over 100,000 accounts lost at least $1,000, with 67% of profits flowing to just 0.1% of users. Nearly half a billion dollars reportedly went to fewer than 2,000 accounts, highlighting extreme wealth concentration in the space.

Young traders, like 26-year-old Cameron George, report losses after following social media advice, underscoring the high-risk nature of these markets. Most participants end up as net losers, despite the allure of outsized rewards.
