POSCO will fund and operate a 2027 demonstration plant to test its DLE technology at Anson’s Green River project.
POSCO Holdings (PKX) and Anson Resources signed an agreement to build a Direct Lithium Extraction demonstration plant in Utah’s Paradox Basin. POSCO will cover all costs, including a $5.2 million facilitation fee to Anson, and lead design, construction, and operations.
The plant, set to begin operations in 2027 and conclude in 2028, aims to validate POSCO’s proprietary DLE technology at industrial scale. While non-commercial, the project establishes a framework for future collaboration and potential joint investments in the Green River Lithium Project.
The partnership leverages Anson’s existing infrastructure and brine supplies, positioning POSCO to advance lithium extraction capabilities in the U.S. market.
