Traders can now wager on whether individual Pokémon cards and sealed products will rise or fall in value by month-end.
Polymarket has launched prediction markets for Pokémon card prices, allowing traders to bet on value changes for individual cards and sealed products. Contracts track ungraded prices from Collectr, with over a dozen markets now active on the platform.
The Squirtle Mega Evolution Promos card contract, for example, bets on whether the card will close above $28.23 on August 31. Current odds favor a decline, with a 39% chance of an increase, down 11 points since launch. Other contracts include Charizard ex, Pikachu ex, and sealed products like booster boxes, most of which reflect bearish sentiment.
Trading volumes remain modest, with the Mega Gengar ex contract leading at roughly $2,300 in volume. The timing coincides with a cooling secondary market, as trader interest shifts toward newer sets, prompting expectations of further price declines.
