Pepsi-Cola’s US market share falls to 7.97% as energy drinks surge, capturing $16 billion in convenience store sales in 2025.

Pepsi-Cola’s US market share dropped to 7.97% in 2025, pushing it to fourth place among carbonated soft drinks. Dr Pepper now holds 8.7% of the market, overtaking Pepsi as the second-best-selling soda brand in the country.

Energy drinks saw a 10% sales increase to $16 billion in convenience stores for the year ending December 31, 2025, with unit sales rising 8%. Market share for energy drinks reached 2.4% of c-store sales, up from 1.3% in 2019.

To counter competition, PepsiCo and Coca-Cola are expanding into wellness beverages and launching limited-edition flavors to drive consumer demand.
