Pacific Biosciences of California (NASDAQ:PACB) reduced its per-genome sequencing list price to $345 and enabled sub-$300 pricing at scale. The company launched its SPRQ-Nx sequencing chemistry and multi-use SMRT Cells for the Revio platform, cutting costs by about 30%.
The updates include enhancements to its AI-powered DeepConsensus algorithm, developed with Google, improving accuracy and yield. Beta testing across over 1,400 runs demonstrated higher output and lower failure rates. The company also expanded methylation detection and reusable consumables.
CEO Christian Henry highlighted AI advances that improve data quality and usability, while Google’s Andrew Carroll noted upgrades in data quality. Analysts have included PACB among top genomics stocks to buy.
