Nordic group Orkla acquires minority stake in Asian sauces maker Go-Tan, targeting expansion in high-growth sauces segment.
Orkla Foods has agreed to acquire a 40% stake in Netherlands-based Asian sauces producer Go-Tan from its founding family. Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed, but the deal aligns with Orkla’s strategy to invest in growth platforms such as sauces, frozen meals, and dilutables.
Go-Tan reported sales exceeding €92m ($106.9m) and EBITDA above €11m in 2025. The company operates four plants in the Netherlands and Hungary, employing around 250 people. Orkla will retain a call option to purchase an additional 45% stake in the future.
The acquisition follows Orkla’s February purchase of Austrian margarine and sauces producer Senna, reinforcing its focus on the sauces category. CEO Aku Vikström stated the partnership supports long-term value creation in an attractive growth segment.
