OpenAI has launched DeployCo, a $4bn entity focused on embedding AI into enterprise operations. The unit will absorb Tomoro, a consulting firm advising on AI integration, adding 150 engineers post-regulatory approvals.

DeployCo will deploy engineers directly into client organizations to reshape workflows and identify AI opportunities. The initiative is majority-owned by OpenAI and backed by 19 investment firms, including TPG, Advent, and SoftBank, with Brookfield committing $500m.

Tomoro, founded in 2023, has worked with clients like Mattel and Tesco. The new unit aims to scale AI adoption across industries, leveraging OpenAI’s research and deployment teams.
