Old Dominion Freight Line reported second-quarter GAAP earnings per share of $1.68, surpassing estimates by $0.15. Revenue reached $1.55 billion, a 9.9% year-over-year increase and $10 million above expectations.

The company’s operating ratio improved to 70.1% from 74.6% in the prior year, reflecting stronger profitability. However, total LTL shipments, tons, and intercity miles declined, alongside a reduction in average active full-time employees.

Revenue per shipment rose, offsetting volume declines and supporting overall financial performance.
