Brent and WTI crude prices are poised for sharp gains after explosions were reported near key Iranian energy and petrochemical sites, including Asaluyeh, a major export hub. The strikes, occurring close to the Strait of Hormuz, threaten tanker traffic and freight rates, amplifying supply concerns.

Air defenses were activated across southern Iran and Tehran, with blasts confirmed in Bushehr, Kish Island, and Sirik. Asaluyeh hosts critical gas and petrochemical facilities, while Bushehr is home to Iran’s sole nuclear power plant. Prior incidents in the region have historically driven oil price volatility.

Safe-haven assets, including the U.S. dollar, yen, and gold, are expected to rally, while global equities face downside pressure as geopolitical risks escalate.
