Traders await the Federal Reserve’s policy decision, keeping the New Zealand Dollar range-bound against a softer USD.

The NZD/USD pair remains flat near 0.5830 as investors adopt a cautious stance before the Federal Reserve’s rate decision. A modestly weaker US Dollar provides limited support, but the Kiwi’s gains are constrained by New Zealand’s fragile economic outlook and expectations of a Fed hold in the 3.50%-3.75% range.

The Reserve Bank of New Zealand’s Official Cash Rate stands at 2.25%, with the next update due July 8. In May, the RBNZ projected inflation returning to 2% next year but signaled further rate hikes to ensure price stability. Meanwhile, technical indicators show the pair trading below key moving averages, reinforcing a bearish near-term bias.

Short-term resistance is clustered around 0.5831, while support holds near 0.5823. The Relative Strength Index near 50 suggests consolidative momentum rather than a directional breakout.
