Defense revenue now accounts for 70% of NLIGHT’s sales, up from 18% in FY2018. The shift follows U.S. Department of War prioritization of directed energy and optical sensing, where NLIGHT holds over 450 patents and operates a U.S.-based semiconductor fabrication facility.

Prosper Stars & Stripes cited NLIGHT as the second-largest contributor in its long book for Q1 2026, highlighting its role as a key supplier for mission-critical laser applications.
