Streaming giant confirms $587 million purchase of InterPositive, an AI-driven post-production tools provider co-founded by Affleck.
Netflix disclosed a $587 million cash payment for InterPositive, an AI filmmaking startup co-founded by Ben Affleck. The deal, announced in March, integrates AI tools to address post-production challenges like missing shots and lighting corrections, according to regulatory filings.
The acquisition was initially revealed without financial details, though Bloomberg later reported a potential valuation near $600 million. Affleck joined Netflix as a senior advisor, while the entire InterPositive team transitioned to the company. Netflix noted in its latest earnings that generative AI has already been used in around 300 titles.
The filing did not specify immediate market reactions or further financial implications of the acquisition.
