Completion of turnaround may ease India’s fuel supply constraints amid reliance on Russian crude imports.
Nayara Energy has finished scheduled maintenance at its 400,000-barrel-per-day Vadinar refinery, resuming operations after a planned shutdown. The refinery, which processes Russian oil exclusively due to EU sanctions, is expected to increase fuel supply to the Indian market in the coming weeks.
The refinery had shifted focus to domestic supply to avoid upcoming EU restrictions targeting Russian-owned entities. Nayara, 49% owned by Rosneft, has been processing only Russian crude since mid-2024, adjusting to geopolitical pressures.
No immediate market reaction was reported, though the restart could alleviate regional refining capacity constraints.
