NMM reports Q2 net income surging to $167.9M, doubles year-ago figure, and announces $200M buyback program.
Navios Maritime Partners (NMM) shares climbed 3.4% after posting Q2 adjusted earnings and revenue that surpassed expectations. Net income jumped to $167.9M, or $5.78 per unit, more than doubling from $69.9M, or $2.34 per share, in the same quarter last year.
The company also authorized a $200M unit repurchase program and acquired three new very large crude carriers (VLCCs) for $361M. The earnings beat reflects stronger operational performance amid improved market conditions.
Trading volume increased following the announcement, with investors reacting positively to the earnings growth and expansion plans.
