Murphy Oil posted Q1 2026 adjusted earnings per share of 82 cents, missing the consensus estimate of 95 cents. Revenue reached $785 million, surpassing the $750 million forecast, driven by stronger upstream volumes and pricing.

The company had reported adjusted EPS of $1.05 in Q4 2025 and $1.12 in Q1 2025. Analysts had anticipated sequential improvement, but higher operating costs and lower refining margins weighed on profitability.

Shares edged lower in after-hours trading as investors focused on the earnings miss rather than the revenue beat.
