Japanese automaker Mitsubishi Motors Corporation reported a 1.3% year-on-year increase in global production to 65,181 vehicles in April 2026, from 64,343 units in the same month last year.
Production in Japan fell by 4.4% to 35,853 units in April following several months of growth, while overseas output increased by 9.3% to 29,328 units
Sales in Japan, including vehicles imported from overseas, rose by 10% to 8,950 units last month, while exports from Japan fell by 3.1% to 14,843 units, with shipments to North America amounting to 9,178 units. In the first four months of the year, Mitsubishi’s global production increased by 10.4% to 322,385 vehicles, after declining by over 10% to 292,096 units a year earlier. Domestic output increased by almost 10% to 179,710 units in this period, while overseas production rose by over 11% to 142,675 units.
